The journey time to Hamburg city center is about 20 minutes, depending on the traffic situation.

For recreation, Meckelfeld offers not only the nearby bathing lakes “Pulvermühlenteich” and “See im großen Moor”, but also many forest and green areas.

Numerous supermarkets, drugstores and bakeries ensure an optimal local supply. Meckelfeld is also well supplied with schools. There is a primary and secondary school as well as a grammar school.
